best way to take pictures of old photos?

I have a number of old photos that I'd like to copy with my digital camera so far not been successful, blurry images with most settings, distances and light conditions that have tried. I have no scanner. I use a Canon PowerShot A570IS. Thanks! I can not copy to invest in a bank or the scanner, I have a Joby Gorilla tripod, and turn off the flash, I tried it with or without zoom, but still do not get a clear shot. It seems to get a scanner or using proffesional service are the only options :-( I thought I could get a good use of my camera, but hey, can not be blamed a girl for trying! Thanks everyone!

In fact, you should be able to get acceptable results with the camera. Negative I copy on my porch back when in the shade and do very well. Take the picture (s) outside the open shade. Put on a piece of white cardboard so that it will completely and make sure there is no reflection of this. Use a tripod if you have one. You can support the impression against something, but make sure it is level and perpendicular to the lens of the camera. Put your camera on a low ISO, the macro setting (the flower icon) and turn off the flash. Then take the test until it locks into place. After that, the others should be nearly equal. Use the macro setting if you're near him, if not using the configuration of the landscape, they move further away and zoom in until the image fills the screen. The method would be easier to buy a scanner, however. Even a cheap scanner will be decent enough results for most of purposes. And if you have a lot of pictures to scan, it may be cheaper in the long run. Scans are $ 0.70 each, in my lab. You can find a scanner for under $ 50. Let us know how it will be.
