What is the best digital camera on the market right now?? Deciding between Sony and Canon?

So finally I'm ready to get rid of the Part of the chamber of the junk that I have and get something good. I have a Treo phone, so the touchscreen is really my thing now. For this why I am thinking of the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-N2, which has the capability of the touch screen. I am also thinking about the Cyber-shot DSC-T100 / R. Furthermore, if the matter megapixel (non ???), then maybe the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W200 (12 megapixels). But my bubble burst when a guy was like "What about Sony all these options? Canon is the best. "The only thing is that the Canon I've only seen up to 7.1 (yes / no?). So the main problem I have with my camera red-eye (nothing gets rid of him), and sometimes not going to take a picture, because its "flash charging." So the most important things 2 me is being able to completely prevent red-eye and be able to just shoot w / out having to wait. I'm going to Europe for what is missing something big b / c of my stupid camera not work! :-)

If your camera uses SD cards will refuse to buy new cards if you choose Sony. I suggest you do a search on dpreview for the cameras with sensor size you want. The touchscreen is a gimmick. You want a camera with a viewfinder on it so you do not have to hold the camera with at arm's length to compose the shot. This introduces a large amount of camera shake which can ruin the images. If you were to look through a viewfinder with a of these cameras, the cheek to start changing your settings. Check out these cameras. Canon PowerShot S80 Pentax Optio E40 Casio Exilim EX-Z850
