panasonic camera dmc tz15

Is the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ15 a good camera?
I'm doing this for Christmas. I am a novice photographer, but I know all the rules. I was wondering what your comments on this camera are. When I went to buy with the minimum in the shop told me it was a very small camera. Please tell me if it's worth the money. Thanks …………. Gabrielle
Apologies if I missed, but I do not see a Panasonic TZ15 line up. There is a TZ5 and TZ50. Assuming you mean the TZ5 is a very complete review here: http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/panasonictz5/ not be intimidated by the critical nature of these comments – At this price, no camera will shine in every area. Panasonic pack their cameras with useful features. The only drawback is that its sensors tend to produce a bit more "noise" images compared with some other manufacturers. However, this is only noticeable if you make enlargements mass – no notice at all if you see on the screen or printed in standard sizes. I have a Panasonic and am very happy of the results. I agree with the man shop. The TZ5 is an ideal camera for the money – are not really very few cameras that offer much at this price. The only point I would make is that the TZ5 has no real manual control type, based on a variety of scene modes to meet different conditions. If you really want to learn about photography, the choice of manual control over aperture and shutter speed is very important. If you want to take photos and are happy to let the camera decide the settings for you, ways of scene are fine. Christms Enjoy your present!
